| Recently, the first RHS in the world with LED ( Light Emitting Diode ) lighting was installed outside the offices of Veridian ( a forward-looking Local Distribution Company that supplies energy to much of Durham Region, Ontario ). The optional LED lighting kit increases the light output of the RHS by approximately 4X without reducing the number of hours of illumination ( Please see Support Materials for photometric diagrams and illumination hours ). The LED kit also further reduces the amount of maintenance required - the standard CFL ( compact fluorescent lamp ) would need replacing about every 3 years, while the LED kit is expected to last 15 years without replacement.
